In this post, I want to share with you my summer morning and nighttime routine so that you could get some ideas for your ones.
Since I do not have school and any classes in the summer, I’ve decided to not be too harsh on myself and not to force myself to wake up too early.
Instead of 7 a.m., now I try to wake up between 8-10 a.m. (yup, kinda late for some of you hehe).
But it works for me perfectly. I go to bed at 10-11 p.m., so I get enough sleep and don’t wake up tired.
Just right after I wake up, I try to remember my dreams to see if any things stood out for me (to later find out their meaning).
Then, I become more mindful (just before my mind gets cluttered with too much information) and read affirmations.

I try to avoid my phone, especially social media, in the morning at all costs.
I’ve noticed many times how “just 5 minutes” on Instagram and Pinterest turn into the whole hour or two and then I’m feeling like sh t and the whole day is messed up.
So, right after I get up I do my morning skincare routine (wash my face with cold water, use Glossier Cleanser (see my review on it here) to get rid of oils and dirt from the night, and then moisturize my skin with a cream).
Before breakfast, I stretch my body and do squats (like a mini workout routine, cause I’m lazy aaahh).
During the breakfast I read. Usually, I read for an hour from 9 to 10 a.m.
And then, the rest of the morning I spend on planning my day, working on my blog and Instagram.
I start my nighttime routine at 8 p.m.
At this time I start my meditation to clear the mind.
I turn on beautiful melodies for meditation on YouTube and just focus on my breathing while letting go of every thought, tension, worries I may have.
Once I clear my mind and feel at peace, I read affirmations and goals to set myself on the right track and to keep myself inspired, motivated.
I also avoid socials and any kind of information before going to bed because I do not want any negativity to stay with me when I sleep (and we know how toxic media sometimes can be, right?)
So, meditation, affirmations, and a positive mindset make me happier and I smile going to bed.
Another thing I do in the evening is journaling.
I usually write about my day, feelings, plans for the next day, reviewing my goals, and listing the things I’m grateful for.
Basically, just decluttering my mind.
P.s. I do that before meditation
The final thing that I do is hygiene and skincare.
It’s almost the same as in the morning:
- brushing teeth
- washing and cleansing the face
- applying coconut oil on my lashes for them to grow
- lip balm and cream for pimples
Then, I also do a little stretching and squats.
Often, overthinking doesn’t let me fall asleep.
So meditation before started to help me.
Once my head hits the pillow I become aware of all of my thoughts and try to let them go.
Basically, becoming mindful and trying not to attach to the worries.
These routines I’ve been perfoming for a few months already.
And I’d like to say that I’ve been feeling better, especially because of the mindfulness and affirmations.
They help me to end and start my day in a positive way.
